The Solution Board is designed for tracking the Solution Increment, allowing you to view Program Boards from multiple collections in a single, unified space. It serves as a powerful tool for managing and tracking cross-ART dependencies, giving you clear visibility into how different teams and programs contribute to larger initiatives. By consolidating these views, the Solution Board makes it easier to monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure alignment across various workstreams.

Difference between Solution Area and Solution Board

Solution Area

Solution Board

  • Acts as a multi-collection space.

  • Allows you to create and hold Solution Boards that bring together data from multiple Program Boards.

  • Serves as the overarching container for organizing solution-level tracking

  • Focuses on cross-ART tracking, mainly dependencies

  • Provides a unified view of progress, dependencies, and milestones across different Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

  • Used for managing and monitoring the Solution Increment.

How to Create a Solution Area

Only "Super Admins" have the rights to create "Solution Area". Go to the Solution boards from the main navigation and click on the "Create Solution Area" button.

Create Solution Boards

After creating a Solution Area, you can set up Solution Boards using the Program Boards from the collections linked to this Solution Area.

Access Rights to Solution Area

To simplify access management, Solution Areas automatically inherit access rights from their associated collections. Within each collection, you can set specific Solution Board Rights. If a user belongs to multiple collections, their rights are combined. This means that if a user has permission to create a Solution Board in any one of these collections, they will also be able to create a Solution Board within the Solution Area.

Solution Boards Listing View

The Solution Boards list displays the following:

  • Solution Areas

    • Shows all Solution Areas where the user has viewing permissions. These permissions are determined by the access rights set in the contributing collections of each Solution Area

  • Collections

    • Displays Org View Collections where the Solution Board option is enabled.

  • Legacy Solution Boards

    • Lists all Solution Boards that were created outside of any collection or Solution Area. These are grouped under this section for easy reference.
