Fields in your Azure DevOps (system fields or custom fields) are collectively known in Kendis as Azure DevOps Custom Fields. With this release update, you can utilize these fields for multiple purposes, including

  • Group by Features

  • Filters Features and Stories

  • Save filters as My Filters and Quick Filters (Shared)

  • Group by Custom Fields on Timeline

1. How to Enable Custom Fields

Custom fields have to be enabled on each Program Board. Follow these steps

  • Go to "Edit Board Settings" and select "Azure DevOps Projects"

  • If you have multiple projects added to your Kendis board, you have to select fields for each project separately

  • You can select multiple fields

1.1 Resync Board

  • After selecting the fields, close the settings dialogue

  • Go to Board Settings and "Resync Board"

  • This resync board operation is needed to update all the items on your Kendis board with these new values.

2. Group by Features List

All the selected custom fields are available for grouping your feature list.

2.1 Group by and Quick Filter with "Eye icon"

Once you apply group by, the eye icon next to each group is a quick and an easy way to filter the features on the board related to each group.

3. Filters Features and Stories (PBIs)

All the selected custom fields are available for filters for features and stories. The selected fields are available for filtration for both items, features, and stories.

3. Group by Timeline

A valuable addition is to apply groups by custom fields and view the progress of these features related to a specific value of your custom fields.

In this example, we applied Group by "Tags," and we can view the progress of the features related to each Tag.
