The default configuration for Kendis Program Boards displays two levels: Features (Epics) and Stories. By following these steps, you can configure an additional level above Features (Epics).

This option is flexible, allowing you to use Initiatives or any other custom issue type from Jira as the parent of your Features/Epics.

Configuration Steps

This configuration needs to be enabled on each program board.

On the Program Board:

  • Select Settings β†’ Edit Board Settings β†’ Additional Settings.

  • Go to Enable Feature Parent and select the link type from the dropdown.

    • If you use the parent link in Jira Cloud, select the Parent link type in Kendis. Otherwise, select the custom link type that you use.

    • The custom link type should connect the "Feature" to the "Parent." For example, if you use "is implemented by" and "implements" as link types:

      • An Initiative/Capability is implemented by a Feature.

      • A Feature implements an Initiative/Capability.

      • In this example, you would select Implements in Kendis.

    • The easiest way to confirm the correct link type is to go to Jira, find the Feature, and check the link type used to connect the Feature to the Parent.

This is how it is shown in Jira
