Kendis provides a default set of fields for the Risk Register. However, you can customize the Risk Register by adding or removing fields as needed.

Custom fields can be accessed from the Settings section in the left navigation bar. Please note, you must have Super Admin privileges to access this section.

Key Concepts

  • Custom Fields

  • Association of Custom Fields

  • Custom Fields Layouts

Custom Fields

Kendis supports 8 types of custom fields:

  • Text Field

  • Single Select

  • Rich Text

  • Multi-Select

  • Number Field

  • Date

  • User

  • Link

For example, you can create a "Single Select" field named "Risk Category," assign values to it, and reorder the options as necessary.

Associations

Custom fields can be associated with different types of Kendis views.

To associate a custom field with the Risk Register:

  • Navigate to the "Associations" tab.

  • Enable the association for "Risk."

Custom Fields Layouts

Layouts allow you to configure how custom fields appear in your Risk Register. You can create a new layout or modify the Default Layout.

Modifying the Default Layout

If you modify the Default Layout for Risks, all existing and new Risk Registers will include the newly associated custom fields.

Creating a New Custom Field Layout

To create a new custom field layout:

  • Go to the Custom Fields Layout view.

  • Click on "Create New."

  • Select "Risk" as the Layout Type.

  • The list of previously created custom fields will appear on the left side of the screen.

  • Add custom fields to either the left or right side of the Risk Register layout.

Systems Field

You can remove default fields (e.g., "Raised On," "Responsible," "Teams Impacted") from the layout. Removed system fields will appear on the left side of the layout editor and can be re-added to the layout at any time.

Using the New Custom Layout

Once the Custom Field Layout is ready:

  • Create a new Risk Register and select the custom layout you created.

  • Alternatively, modify an existing Risk Register and change its layout to your newly created "Risks with Category" layout.

Select Custom Layout

Once you save the Risk Register, create or edit an existing Risk and the Custom Fields will start appearing in the relevant sections.

Custom Fields Filters and Columns

Custom fields associated with the Risk Register will appear in the Columns list, allowing you to sort the list as needed. These fields are also available under the More options for filters.
