The Risk Board gives you a Kanban view of every risk in a register, with one column per risk status. Drag a card from one column to another to update its status. Click any card to open the full risk panel.
Where you'll find it
The Risk Board lives wherever risks already live in Kendis:
Risk Register page: the main, full-screen Risk Board for an entire register.
Program Board board: the Risk Board view sits inside the existing Risk panel for that Program board.
Solution Board: same Risk panel pattern.
Collections: same Risk panel pattern.
In each location, a List / Board toggle in the page header lets you switch between the familiar Risk list view and the new Risk Board view. Your choice is remembered for the current page.
The columns
Each column represents one risk status from your tenant's risk-status catalogue. The default ROAM statuses (Resolved, Owned, Accepted, Mitigated, plus the New and Waiting starting/parking states) appear in that order:
New: risk has just been raised; status not yet decided.
Resolved: the risk is no longer present.
Owned: someone is accountable; work is underway.
Accepted: the team has chosen to take no further action on the risk.
Mitigated: the risk is reduced but not eliminated.
If you have customised the risk-status catalogue, the columns reflect your custom statuses, the board reads the same status list used by the rest of Risk Register.
What's on a card
Each card shows, at a glance:
The risk's key (for example RR-12) and title.
A risk-level badge, High, Medium, or Low.
Team and Sprint chips for any teams and sprints the risk is linked to.
A linked-items count (issues, OKRs, dependencies linked to the risk).
A conversation count (number of comments on the risk).
The raised-on date.
The owner's avatar (the person responsible for the risk).
Moving a risk between statuses
Click and hold a risk card.
Drag it onto the target column.
Release the card lands in the new column and the new status is saved.
The status change is persisted immediately. If something goes wrong (network issue, missing permissions), the card snaps back to its original column.
Note: Drag-and-drop only changes the status field. It does not change the owner, level, linked items, or any other risk fields. To change those, click the card to open the risk panel.
Adding a risk from the board
Each column has a + Add risk button at the bottom. Click it to open the standard risk-creation dialog. The new risk will appear in the column you clicked when you save.
Sorting and filtering
Sort within a column:use the sort menu at the top of the board to order cards by raised date, risk level, owner, or title.
Filter: the existing risk-filter toolbar (level, owner, team, sprint, iteration, free-text search) applies to the board too. Filters carry over if you toggle between List and Board.
Compact mode
A Compact toggle in the board header switches cards to a slim, one-line layout β useful when you have many risks per column. Cards still show key, title, level dot, and owner avatar in compact mode. Toggle back to Comfortable to see the full card.
Sticky column headers
When the board scrolls vertically, column titles stay visible at the top. When it scrolls horizontally (in compact / wide views), the column dividers remain aligned. You always know which column you're looking at.
Presentation view
Click Presentation in the board header to open a focused, full-screen view of the board useful for risk reviews during PI Planning, IA workshops, or stand-ups. The Presentation view hides ancillary chrome (filters, page header, side navigation) and zooms in on the board itself.
Analytics
The Risk Board lives alongside the existing Risk Analytics charts. From the Risk Register page you can switch into Analytics to see distribution by level, status, owner, and trend over time. The charts use the same risks that the board displays, so any filter you apply on the board also applies to Analytics.
What's required to use it
Read access to the relevant Risk Register, PI session, or Solution board.
Risk-edit permission to drag cards between columns. Users with view-only permission can still see the board and open cards, but drag-and-drop is disabled for them.
No setup or configuration is required. The Risk Board is enabled by default for every tenant.
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to check |
A risk card I expected to see isn't there | Confirm your filters (level, owner, team, sprint, iteration) aren't excluding it. Clear filters to see all risks in the register. |
A column I expected isn't there | The board mirrors your tenant's risk-status catalogue. Open Risk Register settings to confirm the status exists. |
Drag-drop snaps back | You probably don't have risk-edit permission for that register. Ask your workspace admin. |
Risk level shows as "Not set" | The risk has no level assigned. Open the card and set High / Medium / Low. |
The board view disappeared from a page | Check that the Board toggle in the page header is selected (you may be in List view). |
