How to create, edit and manage collections

The collection is a generic entity representing an Organization unit, Agile Release Train, Tribe, or others.

In the Kendis Enterprise Platform, to build your Organizational units, you must start by creating collections.

Access Rights: You need "Super Admin" rights to create and manage collections.

1. Create a Collection

Go to the Org Views from the left navigation bar and click the Create Collection option.

a. Basic Details

In this section, you describe what this collection is for and what it represents.

Collection Level

Select the collection level

- If this is your first collection, leave that empty

- You may edit this later to change the parent of any collection

Collection Type

Select Type from the list.

- The Collection types are editable from the Super Admin settings area.

Title

Describe your collection name.

Short Name

6 to 8 characters tag to identify this collection uniquely

Color

Items Hierarchy

Select the hierarchy from the list

- You must have at least one hierarchy. To manage hierarchies, go to the Super Admin settings area.

ALM Account

ALM (Agile Too) that is linked to the selected hierarchy

Description

Describe in detail what this collection is about. This will be visible in the "About" section.

b. Configuration

Each collection has a default set of capabilities listed in this view. You may

  • Toggle On/Off any option

  • Rename

  • Reorder

Program Boards Option

If the program boards option is enabled for the collection, it will be listed on the Program Boards view. If it's not your Agile Release Train or collection for Kendis boards, then toggle this option off.

This option doesn't impact the connection of your items to the Program boards, e.g., if a feature in your collection is planned in more than one program board, the link will appear automatically in your Backlog, Timeline, and so on.

c. Users & Permissions

In this section, you may assign roles and permissions to the users. Super Admins will be able to view all collections.

2. Edit Collections

Once the collections are created, you may be able to modify all the settings except the Hierarchy and ALM accounts.

If you have selected the wrong hierarchy or ALM account, you have to "Archive" this collection and create a new one.

On edit, you may able to change the

  • Basic Details

    • Except for the Hierarchy and ALM accounts.

    • If you have selected the wrong hierarchy or ALM account, you have to "Archive" this collection and create a new one.

  • Configuration

    • Toggle On/Off options, rename or reorder

  • Users & Permissions

    • Add/Remove users to view this collection.
